What to see and do in the surrounding area
Enjoy the sea… From the Grand Hotel Excelsior you can discover all that Senigallia has to offer.
We are talking about a city where sea and history are intertwined, leaving traces of itself in local architecture and customs. Its flat expanse caresses the sea on the coast and inland it climbs soft hills. Its so-called "velvet" beach is home to the famous Rotonda a Mare, built in the 19th century for hydrotherapeutic purposes. Today, it is a venue for exhibitions and events.

With its beach stretchng for an impressive 13 kilometers, Senigallia is the ideal place to enjoy a beach vacation with your family. In fact, the sea is extremely clean and has been awarded the Blue Flag since 1997. The seabed slopes down slowly and is safe for children to swim in.
… and discover the history There is more than just the sea in Senigallia. A visit to the center, which is full of historical monuments, is a must: the element that most tells of the town's medieval past is the Rocca Roveresca, commissioned by Giovanni della Rovere. However, the historic center is full of attractions that are definitely worth a visit, such as the Palazzo del Duca, the Palazzetto Baviera, the Portici Ercolani and the Foro Annonario, where the town market is held and where shows and concerts take place during the summer.
